The sound of nails tapping on metal was the only sound coming out of the small cell. It had been her prison for months now, but that wasn't surprising. Charli didn't expect to ever have a master, but to be truthful she would take this over have some vampire order her around any day. Anytime anyone acted very remotely interested in having her, she would make a scene, and they always backed off.
Charli had always been a strong willed girl. Nobody, vampire or not was going to ever change that. Being here at all had been hard for her. After spending time in juvie it was hard being in cell again. The guards didn't help much either. Since the day she got her she had promised herself that she would get out.
Unlike most of the other people here Charli didn't play nice with the guards. When the messed with her she always bit back. This hadn't gotten her very far, but it had gotten her hit a few times. Though it never gave them any satisfaction. She was a strong girl, and never shed a tear in front of them.

In the small cell directly in front of this strong girl was a young male, named Satuja, attempting to remember his math that he taught himself. Drawing triangles, he pointed out the sine, cosine, and tangent, solved the problems to find the angles, lengths and area. It seemed simple enough for him, and it proved entertaining.
Even after being in this cell for so long, and seeing this girl every day when he wakes up for quite some time, he'd never said a word to her. Today was the day. The people watching over them were off to lunch or something that required them to be away from this room. The other slaves were occupying themselves one way or another, so there would be no real distractions.
"Um, hello?" He asked softly, looking at the girl. While waiting for her to answer, Satuja rubbed away his imaginary trig work. Now that he said those words, he almost wanted to bring them back, he never tries to greet people without the other talking first. Mentally sighing, he hoped for the best.[/blockquote]

For the most part Charli had never spoken to any of the other slaves. Some of it was by choice and the rest was because she didn't want to make a friend just to lose them. Then again the guards didn't make it easy for anyone to do much talking anyway. From what she had seen slaves that hadn't been brought in together didn't really have relationships.
For the past few days it looked likes business had been slow. Not many people had been taken out of their cells. Charli didn't really know if this was good or bad. She was sure that there where good masters out there, but they where rare. It looked like the lack of sales was doing a number on the guards moral. It seemed the lunch break had been getting longer, and longer. It didn't really bother her if they weren't here, it was less time they had to harass her.
The male's voice startled her a bit. At first she wasn't even sure that he was speaking to her, but the look of anticipation on his face told her otherwise. They had been across from each other for as long as Charli had been here. He seemed like a nice guy, but then again you never really got to know people here. "Hi." It had been so long since she had heard her own voice outside of her head, that she almost didn't recognize it.

Satuja was startled and surprised she answered, even though it was a really short, simple word. He tried to think of a way to get the conversation going, a way for him to get to know another slave, even though the chances of them seeing each other after being sold is slim.
thinking, he didn't really want to get too personal when talking with a newly met person, so he tried to keep it as simple as he could. "um... Do you- Have you- How are you?" He asked, stumbling over his sentences, trying to find a good starter. He immediately mentally face-palmed, knowing that she would think of him as a rambling idiot.
If that were to be the case and she ended up laughing, Satuja started to think of things he could do to entertain himself again. He thought of other math problems, stories he's read, History of the world, just about anything so he had a plan. He was too intent on her laughing at him for his mistake, that he planned nothing incase she didn't.

[Mind if I jump in?]
Kal was browsing the 'racks', looking for someone new to prey upon. It wasn't that she needed one, per say, she just wanted someone new. Maybe a woman this time? She didn't see any young girls that seemed like they'd be fun to play with; too many of the slaves had broken spirits. The guards were off duty (that's why she was here in the first place) and Kal heard no one speaking, no one daring to now that someone was here.
Kal just happened to be walking by when one actually started speaking, breaking the silence. She was curios, and checked his name and behaviors, and whether or not he was available. Unfortunately, he had been sold already, soon to be picked up. It really was a shame. What about the one he was speaking to, then? Kal gave the girl a once-over, seeing that she was definitely attractive, and she just had the spirit of a fighter. Kal grinned and licked her lips.
"Charli, is it? My, you've been here a while, haven't you?" Kal looked over the statistics displayed, for the reference of browsers as well as the guards. "Mmm... I think I'm going to have to meet you in the red room..." Naturally, Kal was referring to the hands-off area, where the interviews were held. Kal summoned the guard that was following her around (she bribed him with a... different food for lunch) and whispered something into his ear. Kal turned and walked away, waving to the girl in the cell. "See you in a few, darling."
The guard swallowed, having had experience with Charli before. He was a little guy, so he was hoping that he could handle her today. He walked into the cell, locking it, naturally, and placed cuffs on the girl's wrists as well as manacles on her ankles, by force if he had to. Hopefully calmly, he led the girl out into the 'red room', where Kal was waiting at at table, the top of her dress slightly undone.

Charli giggled a little bit when the boy stumbled over his words. It wasn't that she thought that his nervousness was funny. She just thought that it was cute. Thought it did surprise her after all this time she could still laugh at things. "I'm as good as i can be. How are you holding up?" You could only be doing so well when you where locked up for the majority of the time.
The sound of footsteps startled her. The guards where off duty right now, so who could possibly be in here? After listening a little bit more she ruled out a guard, because the shoes that the person was wearing where to light weight to be that of a guard. Charli was now on her guard, there had been break in attempts before, and she wasn't going to be on of it's victims.
A woman? She hadn't seen a female vampire, well ever. From the looks of it she was had taken an interest in the guy across from her, but that seemed to have been short lived. Charli backed against the wall when the women came her direction. People didn't look her way for everyone when they saw all the warnings that where posted on her stats. She didn't answer back to the women when she spoke, but just stared blankly at her. When the women said to bring her she tensed up for a fight. Though the guard was little he was still a vampire and that made him more powerful that she was.
When he came her, she landed a solid kick in the chest. It knocked him back, and seemed to upset him a bit. The next time he threw him on top of her pinned her to the wall. "We can do this the easy way or the hard way." His voice was dark and raspy, but she wasn't intimidated. "The hard way." With that she landed an elbow to the groin. She had almost made it to the door when he grabbed her and she landed on the floor hard. With that he restrained her and carried her away. "Be safe." She told the boy as she was carried out.

Satuja smiled as he heard the answer, liking that she was talking back, and even seeming kind, considering the other side she's seen. "I'm doing great as well. Maybe you'll get out soon and live better, right?" He said it more as a joke than knowing that someone will take her. Hearing footsteps, he turned in that direction. "I meant it as a joke... not the real thing." He thought to himself, sighing lightly. Many people have come in while the guards were out to look at slaves, so he wasn't disturbed by it in the least. When Satuja saw the woman, he seemed shocked. It's been so long since a female Vampire has ever came here. It’s been at least five years since he's seen a female Vampire come alone. He glanced up at the woman, noticing that she was looking at him. He didn't say anything. He didn't have much of a need. He was already sold, just waiting to get picked up or something around those lines. He looked away from the woman while she was still looking at her, to show that he was uninterested in her. The second she took her attention to the other slave, the girl he was talking to, Satuja watched intently. Seeing a guard, he scooted to the back of his cell, making sure that a surprise attack wouldn't involve him like it has before. He watched, even though he didn't want to, the fight between the guard and that female slave. Seeing her lose at the end crushed his hopes of ever seeing her again, or even knowing her name. "You too..." He muttered back to her as she was taken away to that interview room. [/blockquote]

Kal licked her lips as Charli was brought in. The guard was having a difficult time keeping her in check, and he tossed her down in the chair opposite Kal. He gave her a look that said he'd be waiting if she needed him. Kal crossed her legs, grinning. "Your name is Charli Jordan Livingston. You were born before we took over, and you got into some trouble with the authorities due to your skills with computers. You despise vampires due to the betrayal of your loved one. Finally, you have vowed to get vengeance." Kal leaned forward, crossing her hands and resting her chin on them. The dress she wore, a button-up, white deal with a short skirt part was undone at the very top, revealing a good amount of cleavage.
Kal put her hands down on the table, looking straight into Charli's eyes. "I'll be honest. No matter how this interview goes, I'm going to buy you. I want you. Now, I can help you achieve your revenge... But first I want you to know something. I never got the choice to be a vampire. You know that some of us are born this way, yes?" Kal leaned back in her chair, crossing her arms again. "So tell me, would you still hate people if they couldn't help what they are?"
